What does it mean for performers to live and work under post-industrial conditions? The subjective stories of dancers are the focus of the dance research project As We Begin, So Shall We Go by dancer and choreographer Lili M. Rampre. A group of dancers interprets a common topic of conversation, the recording of which the group rehearses over and over again. As they become more aware of the content of the conversation, their sense of how the movement itself could become an expression of freedom, while at the same time being subject to the strict instruction to repeat itself, becomes stronger.
